I think traveling tech jobs in optimal locations, like say... Maui or San Diego, are hard to come by. If you want to travel you'll more than likely have to go to some God-awful place like Phoenix or Atlanta or New Jersey. My recommendation, once you get your RT, is for you and your RN wife to work for 1-year periods at very desirable places.
Both get hired full-time, live in the RV, then move on after a year. The health care profession is such that you can take time off (as long as you stay current with your certs) and easily get hired somewhere else. She'll have a MUCH easier time finding work than you.
The problem that I encountered is that I left a $20/hour job (that I hated) for a $17/hour job as an RT. To remedy that financial disparity I'm trying to get my MRI certification. But, being an old fart, I'm having a hard time being in school after all these years and just want to be done.
